"Long time no see, old man," he smiled as he moved his arm up to block James from messing up his hair.

These were one of the few moments that Alex was able to truly smile. Seeing old faces made things seem like maybe things could go back to the way they were. Though he knew better than anyone that, that wasn't the case, nothing would ever be the same.

His team had no idea that he was there and they weren't ever going to. God forbid they find out their fearless leader spends his free time at the circus.

"The show wasn't too bad and I liked your bit," he said, still smiling.

"It's certainly been a while, kiddo." He dropped his arm, settling for a quick poke in the side instead. Seeing Alex again pretty much made his day. You didn't come across old friends very often and Alex had been something of a constant in his life and for that James was very grateful. You never knew when you would see someone again, if at all, so having Alex drop by the circus again was both a pleasant surprise and a source of relief.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it," he beamed, brightening even more. "It's not as easy as it looks."
