"Thank you." He speaks quietly and steps inside. He looks around the room out of ingrained habit, charting possible escape routes and likely avenues of ambush. It's good that she has a house instead of having to hide in a small apartment or a hotel or someplace on the streets. Houses offer more privacy, more storage space, more discretion.
