It's probably the most important one that I've got.

[she shrugs a little. Nepeta didn't exactly have many goals, passions that were driving her to keep going, but the ones that she did possess were infinitely more motivational. she had people waiting for her, here and at home. it would be disrespectful for her to destroy herself getting to them.]

Then it's one we can share. And I can tell you of my other goals, as well.

[ she feels the two could go hand in hand. it will be a much better environment to thrive in if they can change their situation, if the rebellion can prevail. no matter how long it will take. ]

Oh, I'd like to hear them.

[and she means it. Kanaya has always been very driven in whatever she does, and Nepeta can't help but be curious to know what's driving her these days]

[glowsferatu]

[ her expression takes a suddenly serious turn. ]

You must have surmised by now that I'm in league with the resistance.

[shipper]

[she nods, expression mirroring Kanaya's]

Yeah, I kind of figured. I wouldn't think that you'd be able to just sit back and not do anything.

[glowsferatu]

You found me in the middle of a job tonight. I do transportation for them, tracking and moving items, persons, whatever I'm needed for.

But I have to move between the cracks in the dampeners. Tonight's trouble was a bit unexpected, but given what came of it, ultimately I'd say it was worth the bother.

[shipper]

Thanks. [she grins a little, the joke soft and not really meant to be responded to]

Have you been doing it for very long? I don't really hear about anything like this from anyone I talk with.

[that's because she rarely talks with anyone for more than a moment or two, but that's irrelevant and not really Kanaya's problem]

[glowsferatu]

That, I'd say, is partly by design. We don't like our operations to be easily discovered, but there are methods of connection when we need to establish them. It's just...they have to be very careful.

I've been involved with this for nearly two sweeps.

[shipper]

[she whistles lowly, impressed]

That's really great! Have you gotten very far yet or is there still a lot to do? It's kind of hard to tell just from stuff like rallies and newspapers.

[it's even harder to gauge when you're an actual imPort, too. even if the tide has been shifting she'd never know after someone got a glance at her real appearance]

[glowsferatu]

[ and it's a slow process anyway, when so much of it has to be covert. ]

I'm more involved with relocation and resource management than the forward planning. My job is to help us maintain the luxury to operate despite the circumstances.

But I hear things, every now and again. Certain individuals we've acquired that should bring the fight in our favor.

[shipper]

I really hope so. [it's heartening to hear, even if it's something so small as that] I'm kind of getting tired of starting fights at rallies.

[glowsferatu]

[ her brows furrow at that remark. ]

You don't...actually attack anyone when you attend those, do you?

[shipper]

No, no, of course not! That'd be horrible. [she puts her hands up in front of her chest in a gesture of innocent]

I just want people to talk about what they're doing so I kind of...nudge them into doing that.

[glowsferatu]

Only talking?

[ she's not sure if she's relieved that nepeta's not putting herself in danger or disappointed that it ends so...peacefully. ]

[shipper]

That's all I do, yeah. But some people get kind of upset about what others are saying, so...it doesn't usually just end with talking.

[her mouth twists into a frown]

But I guess that's still fine, since that gets more publicity anyway.

[glowsferatu]

[ kanaya's eyebrows raise, her lips twisting ambiguously. honestly, she's trying not to smile, but it probably ends up looking a little scrutinizing, disapproving. ]

So you make them fight each other.

[shipper]

It's not on purrpose! [the cat puns roll in as she becomes a little distressed at the thought of the dreaded Kanaya Judgement]

I just make them feel a little more sympathetic towards imPorts so they can think about what they're doing and then ofur people get upset about that and it just kind of happens!

[glowsferatu]

[ as kanaya listens, her lips purse tighter. it starts with a twitch, a titter. her eyes are watering, she puts a fist against her mouth to keep it hidden, but by the time nepeta's finished there's no holding it back.

she snorts out the laugh, the first she's enjoyed in too long. once she's finally settled it, she wipes her eyes with an amused hum. ]

That's brilliant! Good work.

[ don't worry nepeta, there's no judgement coming. or at least not an unfavorable one. she fucking hates those guys. ]

Well, somebody's got to do it. Efuryone has an impurrtant job, right?

[she grins as well, anxious posture dissolving with Kanaya's laughter. Nepeta has a feeling that this isn't something that her friend indulges in very often, and she's glad to be able to bring that out of her]

[glowsferatu]

[ there's really only one concern she has, and she's at least been told that it's fine already. ]

As long as you're coming away from it safe, I think it's an effective use of your skills. I could ask around, see if there may be any more crucial areas you might be similarly deployed.

[shipper]

I'd appreciate it. [she laughs a little] The free food at those meetings isn't exactly the greatest.

[glowsferatu]

[ kanaya lets out a very unflattering snort. ]

I wouldn't worry over that. I can provide you with much better.

[shipper]

[she rolls her eyes]

I'm purretty sure that anybody could! Although I'm getting purretty good at being snobby about chain store donuts.

[glowsferatu]

Have you? Which ones do you consider most worthy of recommendation?

[shipper]

The holiday ones! Especially the ones shaped like hearts and the ones with green filling.

[she has certain tastes, ok]
