His thumb flicked the hammer of the gun back with a click. "I'd rather not shoot you, besides. But Bellatrix; true power is on the horizon. It's beyond either side of this petty feud. But one must embrace the power if they're ever to wield it."

She stood her ground, stance unwavering. She's all too familiar with guns now, and she wasn't certain she could block the bullet if he shoots. "You know that this war matters. And you know how important it is to be on the winning side -- and you're not on it."

He cast a glance at her wand, refusing to react to it.
"So what comes next?"

She stepped forward, moving to press the tip of her wand into the hollow of his throat. "You don't think I'll kill you? It's as simple as uttering two words."

He withdrew his gun. "That's why I haven't shot you."

"And what? You're here to fix me?"

He didn't aim the gun, but kept it lowered -- ready, in case -- as he glanced to her wand, then to her. His shoulders stiffened and he didn't move any closer, but allowed her to draw nearer.

"I suppose I can look the other way once, for old time's sake. With the understanding that it's mutual."

"Don't worry, I won't curse you once your back is turned." She closed the gap between them, pressing her lips lightly against his. "It's really a pity that you're a different man than I thought you were."

He smiled and stepped back, glancing around at the building. He turned his head so that it was on his left side, so his vision of it was blocked by his eye-patch.
"Anyway. If asked about this incident, I suppose I didn't see anything."

"I'm not going to mention meeting you to anyone, either. They probably won't take kindly to the fact that I let you go unharmed."
